Lawyers & Paralegals

I was born in León, Guanajuato, México and I immigrated to the United States at the age of 13. I lived in Chula Vista, California. In school, I was placed in an English immersion program that allowed me to learn English. I graduated from high school and attended the University of California at Berkeley with a full scholarship from the Gates Millennium foundation. While at Berkeley, I was co-chair of M.E.Ch.A. where I organized different events to promote higher education for Latino students. I also helped out agricultural workers in Salinas to know their rights in their Spanish language.

Once I returned to San Diego, I worked in different law offices as an assistant and I realized there was a great need for Spanish-speaking attorneys. I decided to go to law school to represent Spanish-speaking individuals who need legal help. In law school I volunteered in non-profits such as Employee Rights Center and Casa Cornelia while I served in the board of La Raza student law association. In law school and in my volunteer internships, I discovered that I wanted to help immigrants like myself.

I graduated and passed the California bar exam in 2011. Since then, I have concentrated in immigration law and helping immigrants and the Latino community. I worked at the Immigration Justice Project representing detained mentally ill individuals who were in removal proceedings. I then worked at a prestigious immigration law office until I decided to open my own immigration office to implement my immigrant experience and advocate for my clients with integrity and zealously in San Diego and Tijuana. As the founder and owner of Cross Border Lawyer, I also serve as a board member in the non-profit People’s Legal Services and volunteer my time offering free legal consultations at the San Diego Mexican Consulate and the Community Law Project.

As an attorney, I have given immigration presentations to law students and other lawyers. I have represented hundreds of clients successfully. I am dedicated to my community and I will continue fighting for immigrants’ rights.
